Bill Mester, president/CEO/sound designer/engineer
Bill founded StageTech in 2001 after working several years in corporate A/V and operating the audio console at the University of Texas Performing Arts Center. He has a long history of providing audio support to Austin’s major arts organizations and designing local musical productions. He has been the Austin Opera’s sound designer since 1994.
Bill is known in the event support community for having extensive knowledge of the applications and operation of audio, video, lighting and scenic equipment. StageTech’s many loyal clients value Bill’s attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Bill studied commercial music at Houston Community College. His love for music ranges from Frank Zappa to Bartok and he once toured as the soundman for Texas blues legend Doyle Bramhall Sr.
Charles Mester, audio/video technician
Charles has been working for StageTech for several years, becoming a confident and dependable technician in the event production industry. He has gained proficiency in audio production as well as video configuration and signal flow.
In 2016, Charles earned his associate’s degree in commercial music management from Austin Community College. His course of study included studio recording, acoustics, live audio, and business management. Charles’ love for audio engineering comes from his background in music playing guitar, piano and drums.
